I had always heard others talking about sealed or fake formula bottles for reborn baby dolls but I was not 100% sure what they were- I thought they were just the ones you can buy at the toy store or at other retailers for dolls and things- I didn't know that people could actually make their own.
So I started looking up ideas and tips on how to make them yourself and the first couple 'recipes' I found did not work all that well the first used Lotion and food coloring mixed with hot water- I tried this one and at first it seemed to of come out good, but found after a week it got thick like and looked similar to rotten milk.
NOTE: I thought I had images/pics to post of the first bottle I made but I cannot find them on my laptop will add later....
The second 'recipe' I found called for glue, & water- as well as super glue to seal the tip/nipple, and cover. The exact measurements I don't remember but I rarely stick to exact measurements-
**Instructions:**
-Small Saucepan -Water -Elmer's Glue (*I used Elmer's Glue craft glue- which if for fabric, paper, cardboard, wood, etc) -Wooden Craft Stick OR Paint Stick Stirrer -Baby Bottle 4oz OR 8oz -Super Glue
Use a small sauce pan *I recommend using an older one or one that you don't mind scrubbing/staining.*
*Before starting open bottle; seperate nipple and cover- place super glue around inside cap (where you put nipple into) Place a couple drops of super glue in the inside of nipple (at the open flow part of tip) also add a couple drops on the exterior tip of flow part on nipple. Carefully place nipple into cover. *Be Careful- I ended up getting stuck a bit my first try! :) Allow to dry as you work on the next steps:
Add 1-2 cups of water to start bring to a boil.
Once boiling slowly add glue- stir well as you add the glue
Continue to add glue until you get a nice thick *milk like, consistency
Allow to cool for 5-10mins *(I put it in freezer- I wanted to cool quickly so I could test whether it worked or not.
Pour into baby bottle- if still warm allow to cool for another 5mins before securing cover and nipple.
Check if glue is dry on the nipple- Put another layer of super glue around the inner cap after nipple is in place- Close bottle.
To check if properly sealed tip bottle upside down and remain in place for 30secs-1min. *If still drips any of the 'formula' then add a couple more drops of super glue to inside nipple and then on top.
If No leaking occurs still apply another drop/coating of super glue on the exterior flow of the nipple tip. Allow to dry and enjoy feeding your reborn/silicone or any other baby dolls you choose!
